Australian Spiders and their FacesSee also: Australian Spider Quiz NEW
This page shows some spiders that can be found in the Sydney and Blue Mountains and other regions of Australia. Click on the pictures to show more information about each of the different spiders. This section of the site is quite new and I will add more spiders as I get around to it, and add more information about the spiders that are there already. Note that nearly all the photos I've taken (so far anyway) are of dead spiders, and their colour often becomes lighter (less black) after they have been dead for a while. Nearly all the photos so far were taken in Sydney at the Australian Museum Spiders Exhibition, using a Nikon D700 camera with a Tamron SP 90mm F/2.8 Di MACRO 1:1 VC USD lens. NEW: Now there are face photos of most of the spiders, except the really small spiders. NEW There's an alternative version of this page at the new website www.ark.au/spiders.html
NOTE: The spiders are listed in order of size, from smallest to largest.
